CMU covers music and the music business. It has two main audiences - people who work in music, and people who live for it.
We founded CMU in 1998 in a mission to provide a network that brought together everyone involved in music, from the bosses of the biggest music and media companies to everyone in the grass roots music community.
Ten years on we do exactly that, on a daily basis, through a variety of media and events...

CMU Social is the regular networking and showcase night for the UK music business.
Co-promoted by UnLimited Media and Leyline Promotions at 229 in central London, the Social provides an opportunity for music people to meet, network and socialise, to compete in the CMU Pop Quiz, and to see new bands recommended by the CMU team. Entry is free for CMU readers, or £5 for punters.
Playing the CMU Social provides new signings, or more established bands with a new album to promote, with a ready made industry showcase. You provide the music, we provide the stage, the kit and the industry audience, plus promote the gig and featured artists to 15,000, plus key opinion formers via the CMU Daily.
For bands, the CMU Social is a marketing opportunity - and as such we offer a contra-deal package. Although there is not a performance fee as such, we provide in excess of £1000 in marketing value for participating bands.
Past bands to play at the Social include City Reverb, Rose Elinor Dougall, Matt Finucane, Tim Ten Yen, Post War Years, Model Horror, The Deer Tracks, Maths Class, Vessels, Infadels, Restlesslist, A.Human, The Penny Black Remedy, Big Strides and Sportsday Megaphone.
To put your band forward to play the CMU Social call Andy Malt on 020 7099 9050 or email andy@unlimitedmedia.co.uk |

| From the CMU reader's survey… |
"Without doubt it is the most informative piece of music communication that I receive. Keeps me very much in the loop with everything connected to the industry"
"I love the off the cuff tone and the feel that the people writing it care about music as well as the music industry"
"Takes the pomp out of the industry. I like that"
"It’s the only music news disseminator I trust"
"It doesn't try to be hip or score points for being in on something first – it is inclusive – it is a perfect example of how you can win over a huge amount of people by doing something for them for free"
"bunch of opinionated fuckers... love it!" |
